Envirosax was founded in 2004 by Australian couple Belinda and Mark David-Tooze who live off grid with their three children in the beautiful Australian Rainforest in South East Queensland. Envirosax fulfil a problem that all consumers face today. In the UK we use around 167 throw away plastic carrier bags each annually, Envirosax aims to reduce this by providing the consumer with an alternative to these throw away plastic carrier bags - the reusable bag that folds up and can be kept in your handbag or pocket when you're out and about meaning you'll never be caught without one. It is about changing our way of life only slightly: by remembering that bag when you leave the house - we all remember our keys, mobile phone and lipstick, so why not our Envirosax? Envirosax Facts: 1. Size and Weight: An Envirosax is 19.5" by 16.5" and folds up to 4" by 1.5". It weighs in at just 1.4oz. An Envirosax can hold two plastic bags of shopping, and has been tested to hold at least 44lbs. 2. Polyester: Envirosax are made from polyester. Envirosax believe that the fundamental problem with conventional plastic bags is not that they are made from plastic, it is that they are not designed to be re-used. Envirosax aim to create a fashionable and practical product that is designed to last and polyester is the best material to do that: > It is extremely lightweight and allows the bag to be rolled up into a very compact package, which encourages people to carry them with them and increases re-use. > It can be printed by sublimation, which means the print will never fade and the bag will look good for its whole lifetime. > It is highly durable, which means each Envirosax will last for years. > It is relatively inexpensive, which means Envirosax are affordable for anyone. 3. Printing: The inks and dyes used in the printing of the bags are eco-friendly and no carcinogenic amides are used. All by products of the printing process such as the ink, water and paper are recycled where possible. 4. Production: Envirosax are produced in a company owned factory in China which meets all fair trade guidelines. Envirosax personally inspect their factories.
