About Juzi
Juzi translates as 'the day before yesterday' in Swahili, and it is yesterday's news that makes up the beautiful beads of Juzi's jewllerey.

Made in a co-operative in Kisumu, Western Kenya Juzi was founded in 2007 by sister team Nancy and Lorna Randall. The co-operative helps to support many people in the Kisumu community. By buying Juzi, you are not just buying recycled jewellery, you are supporting trade to Kenyan communities that are used to surviving on $1 a day. Juzi's vision for the Kisumu co-operative is to help them attain Fair Trade accreditation:

'It is so good that the group can support themselves with their own, handmade products. Before setting up the co-operative I had a small curio shop in Kisumu'. Lilian Omondi Production Co-ordinator, Kisumu Kenya

'After leaving school I wanted to learn more about computers. Since working for Juzi I have been able to pay the bill for my computer course. I can make 400 beads a day'. Grace Aduoka Omoro Age 18

'I support my four children with my income from Juzi and it means I can send all my children to school. I like to wear the beads too and make 350 a day'. Monica Sabua Ndede age 40.
